Video: Hamilton Shooting Leaves One Man Dead, Another in Custody

HAMILTON, Miss. (WCBI) — A shooting in Hamilton has left one man dead and another man being questioned by police about the incident.

About 1:30 Sunday morning the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department received a call of shots fired on Elam Lane in Hamilton. According to Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, twenty-three year old Jonathan Furland, was found dead from a gun shot wound at the home of James M. Hunter. Furland was originally from Rhode Island but had recently moved to Becker.

Hunter is in policy custody and being questioned about the shooting. Cantrell says no charges have been filed in the case and the shooting is still under investigation.
