Happy First Day Of Fall! (Not So Fast, Says the Weather…)

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF FALL!  (Hold off on those Pumpkin Spice flavored foods and drinks, Summer isn’t quite finished…)

FRIDAY: Another hot and humid day is in store. Temperatures will once again climb into the low 90s with heat indices creeping towards 100.  We’ll keep the chance for a few afternoon pop-up showers and storms, but most if not all should fizzle out by football tonight.  Lows tonight will fall into the low 70s and upper 60s.

WEEKEND: Still quite warm, with highs at or around 90°. A couple of stray showers and storms possible in the afternoon, but the majority of folks stay hot and dry.  Lows at night will be near 70 with the weekend resembling more like July or August than Late September.

NEXT WEEK: Highs remain in the upper 80s to low 90s. We’ll keep the chance for a few isolated pop-up showers and storms during the afternoon heating, but each day most will stay dry as chances are low at best.

BEYOND 7 DAYS: A cold front looks to push through at the end of next week which will likely bring some more rain and will bring temperatures back to or below normal. That will take us into the beginning of October and it may finally feel like fall. How much cooler it will be and how long it will last is still to be determined, but stay tuned for the latest.
