Head-on Fatal Collision in Calhoun CO Under Investigation

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A head-on collision in Calhoun County has claimed the life of a Vardaman man.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:30 P.M. Sunday, on Highway 9 near County Road 364.

A Chevy Silverado, driven by 71-year-old Jerry Holder of Vardaman, was traveling North, and collided head-on with a Honda Civic, driven by Thomas Horton of Vardaman.

Horton was pronounced dead at the scene .

Holder was taken to an Oxford hospital.

MHP continues to investigate the accident.
