Heavy storm damage shakes up Baldwyn community

BALDWYN, Miss (WCBI) – Severe weather poured through Baldwyn Saturday leaving homes and businesses damaged.

“It happened so quick it sounded like a bomb went off and it was gone,” said Paul Vick.

Vick still can’t believe it.

“Roof damage, carport gone, hole in the roof, tree damage,” said Vick.

Around the corner from Vick’s, Buffy Bell woke up when the storm hit.

“Everything was moving. It felt like the floor had just came out from under our feet,” said Bell.

This is what she found when she walked outside.

“Stuff was just everywhere, we found these trees and my car was smashed… I just thank the Lord that we’re alive. That’s all,” said Bell.

Battered, but not beaten.

Luckily they are still able to stay in their house. It’ll take a few days to assess the damage.
