High speed chase ends in crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A hot pursuit ends in a crash Tuesday in Lowndes County.

Lowndes County deputies tried to stop a Nissan Murano, near 23rd Street North.

During the pursuit the vehicle crashed on 15th Street, near School House Avenue.

Deputies say the driver, Edwin Williams, lost control of the vehicle, hit a curb and the SUV he was driving flipped.

Two people were taken into custody at the scene but only Williams was charged.

The men in the vehicle were not injured.

Williams remains in the Lowndes County jail and is charged with felony and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer.
