Hood leads new election poll

JACKSON (WCBI) – The first major Mississippi election poll of 2019 is out and it looks like the race for governor will be a tight one.

The Mason Dixon Research firm released its latest poll at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The survey looks at the potential general election matchup between Democrat Jim Hood and Republican Tate Reeves.

The poll results show Hood with a 42 percent to 40 percent advantage over Reeves. Those numbers are closer than the prior two polls which both had Hood with a six percent margin.
