Hot & Dry Holiday Weekend
SUMMARY: Unseasonably warm and humid air will continue through the long holiday weekend. While a stray shower can’t be ruled out somewhere in the area we are going to keep the forecast dry through at least Tuesday of next week.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear, calm, and quiet. Mild lows in the upper 60s to around 70°.
FRIDAY-TUESDAY: A big ridge of high pressure at the surface and aloft means more sun and heat for us. Highs each day should range from the low to mid 90s with higher heat indices during peak heating. Overnight lows will be around 70.
WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: Highs may only be in the low 90s with a small 20% chance of a shower or storm each day.
HEAT SAFETY: Drink plenty of water, use sunscreen, wear hats and light weight/light colored clothing, stay in air conditioning, check on the elderly, bring pets indoors, check your car for children and pets.
