Hundreds Come Out To Be A Part of 15th Annual Wassail Festival

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Shops on Main Street in Columbus stayed open a little later than usual on Friday night.

A big reason for that is because hundreds poured into the downtown area to be a part of the 15th annual Wassail Festival.

Nearly two dozen businesses took place in the festival.

There were different deals and specials for shoppers and of course various versions of wassail.

The shops were competing to determine who would have the best wassail and be named the Wassail Meister of 2018.

“It’s really important for our community. People love Wassail Fest. It grows bigger each year,” said Barbara Bigelow, executive director of Columbus Main Street.

The Eggbowl trophy was also on hand tonight at the Arts Council building for shoppers to stop by and take pictures.
