GOLDEN TRIANGLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Icy conditions on roads and bridges were likely the cause of dozens of accidents across North Mississippi Wednesday morning.
One accident was on Highway 82 in Lowndes County just after 8 o’clock. Troopers worked accidents at the interchange at Highway 45 in both the east and westbound lanes.
One wreck involved at least three vehicles. The other appeared to have only involved one–and it flipped on its side.
MHP spokesperson Derrick Beckom said troopers worked 16 accidents in the Golden Triangle area. They also responded to several incidents involving cars that ran off the road needing assistance.
No fatalities or serious injuries were reported.
