Infant Dies In North Mississippi Crash

TIPPAH COUNTY ( MHP RELEASE)

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a fatal crash in Tippah County that claimed the life of an 11-month old infant.

Troopers responded to the head-on collision on MS 15, near Tiplersville, at approximately 8:00pm, Friday, August 12th. Upon arriving it appeared Jennalee Lyles 25, of Faulkner, was traveling south bound in a 2014 Ford Fusion, when a 2004 Ford F-350, driven by Danny Banuelos, 28, of Tiplersville, crossed over the center line and collided head-on into her vehicle.

Lyles was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Sikes Lyles, 11-month old son of Jennalee Lyles, died on the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. He was properly fastened in a child restraint.

Banuelos and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.
