Inmate found dead at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An inmate has died at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says the inmate’s name was James Bradley West, 38, of Monroe County.

The sheriff’s department has declined to comment on the investigation.

Sources told WCBI the inmate was found early Monday morning.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will handle the investigation.

The body will be taken to the medical examiners office for an autopsy. More information will be released later.
