Inmate found dead at Wilkinson County Correctional Facility

WILKINSON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An inmate at Wilkinson County Correctional Facility was found dead in his cell Saturday.

Issa Arnita with Management and Training Corporation said Officers discovered the body of 39-year-old Jesus Garcia and immediately began life-saving measures that were ultimately unsuccessful.

Garcia was pronounced dead just before 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon.

The cause and manner of death are under investigation.

Arnita said there were no obvious signs of assault.
