Investigation Into Campus Shooting Continues
PRESS RELEASE
BOONEVILLE, Miss.– The investigation into the shooting incident that occurred on the southern edge of the Northeast Mississippi Community College campus in Booneville last week continues to be an ongoing investigation.
College officials have confirmed that pieces of evidence found in the general area of the incident have been sent to the State Crime Lab to be tested.
“At this point the tests being conducted at the State Crime Lab are not complete,” Northeast president Ricky G. Ford said.”
“However, as the investigation remains in progress, we will have no further comment until new evidence in the case is collected and confirmed.”
At the time of the incident a new Tiger Alert system was in the process of being integrated and was not completely operational and therefore not employed.
“Our new system wasn’t completely functional and all students were not signed on last week,” Ford said.
