Investigators make progress in Artesia triple homicide

ARTESIA, Miss. (WCBI) –  With a suspect in jail, Lowndes County investigators returned to  the scene of a triple homicide in Artesia.

Now, deputies say they have crucial pieces of evidence in the investigation.

Major Greg Wright told WCBI about 30 Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks conservation officers helped deputies search the area around the Mobile Road home.

Wright would not say what was found. He did say the evidence was found near the scene.

A mobile command center was set up to help law enforcement.

He’s charged with Capital Murder and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Offense.

Lowndes County investigators believe he shot and killed Demario Snell, Mauricio Lamarcus, and Tyshun Bernard Fields.

Detectives say drugs were a factor in the deadly shooting but have not released a motive.

The investigation is continuing.
