Jackson Police Officer Injured in Shooting

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Four men and a woman have been taken into custody for questioning after an officer was injured last night in Jackson during a shooting.

According to WJTV, the incident occured near an Express Fuel Food Mart on West Northside Drive. The area has had several reports of spice and drug activity in this area in recent months. Multiple shell casings were spotted near where the officer was injured.

The officer was taken to UMMC with non-life threatening injuries.

The officer has not been identified at this time.
