JUUL Puts The Break On Store Sales Of Some Of Its Popular Flavors

GOLDEN TRIANGLE, Miss. (WCBI) – JUUL, the largest e-cigarette company in the market, says it has stopped store sales of some of its flavors.

JUUL Labs Inc. made the announcement on Tuesday.

The company says it made the decision to prevent minors from using the product.

We’ve been following the Food and Drug Administration’s plans to crack down on sales of flavored e-cigarette products, but JUUL went ahead and took action on the government’s plans.

JUUL says its stopped filling store orders for its mango, fruit, creme and cucumber pods, but not menthol and mint.

However, all flavors will still be sold on its website, but you must be 21 or older to purchase the product.

After our story aired Tuesday night about the FDA’s plans, e-cigs addictive qualities, and the growing popularity with teens, a JUUL spokesperson sent us a statement.

“JUUL is intended for current adult smokers only. We cannot be more emphatic on this point: no young person or non-nicotine user should ever try JUUL. Underage use of JUUL and any other vaping products is completely unacceptable to us and is directly opposed to our mission of eliminating cigarettes by offering existing adult smokers a true alternative. We stand committed to working with those who want to keep nicotine products out of the hands of young people.”

The statement goes on to say the company is against the underage use of JUUL products.

The company says it’s taken several actions to prevent the underage use of its products, including removing all product-related content from its social media accounts and removing social media posts and accounts that show its product being used in unauthorized and youth-oriented manners.

JUUL also says it’s launched campaign ads about “What Parents Should Know About Juul” and highlights adult smoker testimonials to reinforce our target consumer.
