Keeping Tupelo Cleaner And Greener

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo wants your help to keep the city clean.

Saturday was the city’s annual 10 for Tupelo.

Its a day for residents to come out and help make Tupelo cleaner and greener.

Participants signed in at Fairpark, got their supplies, and were off to a location around the city that could use some sprucing up.

Organizer Kathryn Rhea says about 400 people were out and around the city doing everything from picking up trash to removing graffiti. Today’s event was more than just about cleaning up it was about coming together.

“It really is a day about education not just cleaning up education goes hand in hand with a little cleanup its going to take all of us but we also need to have fun doing it they need your time not just your money and this is what this is about,” said Rhea.

10 for Tupelo is sponsored by the Rotary Club and the city’s Keep Tupelo Beautiful Department.
