Kidnapping Suspect On The Run

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – UPDATED 5:37 p.m.: Suspect is in Eastern Lowndes County, per officials.

UPDATED 5:30 p.m.: Suspect is fleeing deputies on foot. Pannell has been located and is safe.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office needs your help finding a missing woman and her possible kidnapper.

Christopher Austin Tedford is wanted for the abduction of Carrie Pannell, his estranged girlfriend.

Earlier today, Pannell and a witness went to pick Tedford up at a residence in Tony Cove.

The witness was told by the homeowner that “no one was here by that name”

While talking with the homeowner, the witness heard screaming, and saw Tedford jump into a vehicle with Pannell.

Speeding off, Tedford drove away from the scene with Pannell.

They were last in a 2005 Gold Chevy Malibu with a Mississippi Tag LVP-597

According to Chief Deputy Mark Miley, Tedford often likes to tell people his name is that of other family members.
