Latest details in Starkville deadly shooting

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The search for a killer continues Monday in Starkville, as the name of the victim has been released by investigators.

An autopsy will be performed on Joseph Turnipseed Jr., 33, of the Blackjack community in Oktibbeha County.

Turnipseed was found shot to death at West Main Arms Apartments on Friday night.

He was found inside of a vehicle.

Starkville police have made one arrest in connection with the homicide.

Henry Neal, Jr., 27, of Starkville was arrested Saturday night.

He was charged with Attempted Conspiracy to Commit Murder.

In court documents, police allege Neal tried to pay someone $5,000 to help in a murder.

If convicted, Neal could face up to 20 years in prison.
