Local boutique gets head start on big holiday shopping crowds

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – As the holidays are approaching, businesses in the Golden Triangle are preparing for large crowds. Carli Sparks owns Carlico Boutique.

She said she was trying to get ahead of the holiday rush.

“We are preparing for black Friday, small business Saturday, cyber-Monday, right now. So, Black Friday is one of our biggest events of the year and we are starting it Thursday night after the egg bowl. And we will also be doing free gift wrapping,” said Sparks.

Sparks said not only are they providing great deals, but they also have something you may not find at larger stores.

“The fact that me and my mom are always here, and we have the best customer service, and we can help you pick out an outfit for any type of occasion,” said Sparks.

And Carli and her staff know that customers were always searching for a good deal.

The boutique had that too.

“I think it benefits the customers because we do a really big sale. And me and my mom are both the owners are since we are always here. I feel like people like to come shop with us since they know that we are the owners. And the bags are full of goodies from other small businesses and if you spend $50 or more, you get a gift card or little freebies from other small businesses around us,” said Sparks.
