Louisville Hosts Music Festival

LOUISVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)- Blissful music is in the air.

And everyone is out having a good time grooving to the music.

The legion State Park Music Festival Is a way for people to come out and fellowship with another, and also Allows Local artists to have their music heard.

For Louisville native Jodie Ross, the festival served as a homecoming opportunity, and she was thrilled to put on a show for her hometown.

“It’s really rewarding. It’s kind of like a full circle experience you know. In high school I was involved in band and lots of other music experiences and just to be able to come back with the abilities I learned from here being able to come back and share those,” Ross said.

Organizers wanted to give the crowd a good shows.

Chairman Ronald Gammill says that’s because the musicians are the heartbeat of the festival.

“Musicians have come to us asking to participate they have been a vital part of how we’ve seen it grow from last year to this year so we’re excited about the future and really can’t say enough about the people who helped organize this and the musicians that are here today we’ve got really some very talented folks,” Gammill said.

Musicians of all ages took the stage to play their harmonic tunes, one of them being 14 year old Dallas Dixon.

The teen has been touring all around the state, he says being on stage is a great feeling and he wants to give that feeling to others on in the crowd.

“It’s just like an adrenaline rush to me. You know you’ve got Bull riders they’re going up there for the adrenaline rush same thing here that and I enjoy doing it I enjoy giving people good sound, good day, good vibes,” Dixon said.

This marks this second year this event has taken place.
