Lowndes Chamber Adds New Board Members
PRESS RELEASE
Columbus, Mississippi – The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the newest members of the Chamber Board of Directors and officers for the 2016-2018 term.
Blaine Walters, owner and founder of the Bride and Groom and House of Tux, will serve as Chairman for the 2016-2018 term. Walters has served on the chamber board since its inception in 2014. The role of Vice-chairman will be held by Melinda Lowe, Interim Director of Outreach and Innovation at the Mississippi University for Women. She has previously served on the Chamber Board, Chair of the Education Committee, and Lowndes Young Leaders Advisory Board. Jeff Farnham will serve as past chairman.

Newly elected members of the board of directors are Lucy Nickels Rhett of L.H. Nickels Wealth Management, Scott Ferguson of Financial Concepts, and Beth Jeffers of The Fitness Factor.
Other Board members currently serving are Germain McConnell of MSMS and Bill Walker of Brickyard Properties. All new members added to the board this year will serve a two-year term.
The board is charged with advising the Chamber on programs, events, membership, and goals for the organization. The Chamber board meets monthly to discuss the current state of the organization as well as, additional initiatives that could improve the organization while upholding the organization’s mission and vision.
The mission of the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is to promote a favorable business climate and increase membership value for members through a cooperative effort, continually increasing business development for the community.
