LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – On Monday April 28, 2014 agents of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics unit arrested Tony Williams, 55, of Columbus, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.  Williams was approached by agents in the Southern Family Market parking lot in East Columbus where he was placed in custody. Williams was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he is being held awaiting bond.

On Monday April 28, 2014 on an unrelated case, agents of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit arrested Joshua Allen Murry, 23, of Columbus for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.  Murry’s charges stemmed from a search warrant that was executed by the Narcotics Unit at Murry’s home on Kermit Street in Columbus on April 10th.  During the execution of this search warrant agents seized a large amount of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Murry was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he is being held awaiting bond.

On Tuesday April 29, 2014 Deputies of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department were called to the address of 116 Sugar Hill Street in Crawford for a disturbance call.  Deputies arrived on scene and after a brief investigation, arrested James Dooley, 27, of Crawford for domestic violence 3rd offense.  While on scene at this residence deputies noticed alleged cocaine in the residence.  Agents of the Lowndes County Narcotics Unit were contacted and a search warrant was executed at the residence.  Agents seized cocaine, crack cocaine, and a 7.62 caliber assault rifle.  James Dooley was charged with Domestic violence 3rd offense, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and two counts of Assault of Assault on a Law officer.  Dooley was transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he is being held awaiting a bond to be set on his charges.
