Lowndes County Narcotics Arrests

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – “On Wednesday March 8th Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 45 and Highway 373. After a brief investigation a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of marijuana, Xanax pills, and spice along with items of paraphernalia to include digital scales and a rolled up dollar bill that both contained cocaine residue. Agents with the Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force were contacted and responded to the scene taking over the investigation.

The driver, Willie Earl Bryant, 37, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The front seat passenger, Theresa Ann Hicks, 39, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance (Xanax).

The back seat passenger, Anthony Anton Butler, 38, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine (misdemeanor) and possession of a controlled substance (spice) in a correctional facility (felony), after it was discovered inside his shoe.

On Monday March 13th Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department went to the Caledonia Shop and Save to locate and arrest Brian Nathan Smith for an outstanding arrest warrant for felony domestic violence. After locating Smith he was placed in custody. A search of Smith resulted in the seizure of two small bags of methamphetamine. Agents with the Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force responded and took over the investigation.

Brian Nathan Smith, 25, of Caledonia was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence and possession of methamphetamine (felony).

On Monday March 13th Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on West Lehmberg Road. The vehicle was stopped for having an expired license plate. During the stop the deputy noticed three hand rolled marijuana cigars in the driver’s door handle. The deputy ordered the driver to exit the vehicle and during that time the driver, Allison Young, retrieved a large object from her purse and threw it over a bridge on West Lehmberg Road. Young then pushed away from the deputy and attempted to run, but was apprehended a few feet down the road.

Deputies located the object which was thrown and found it contained a large amount of methamphetamine (unofficial weight of 14 grams). Marijuana was also found in Young’s purse.

The driver, Allison Renee Young, 26, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute (felony), possession of marijuana (misdemeanor), resisting arrest, and having an expired license plate.

On Tuesday March 14th Officers with the Columbus Police Department responded to a disturbance call at Motel 6 located at 1203 Highway 45 in Columbus. Upon their arrival a strong odor of marijuana was found to be emitting from one of the hotel rooms. Officers detained the occupants of the room and Agents with the Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force were notified. Narcotics Agents prepared a search warrant for the room and executed the search warrant. A search of the room yielded a felony amount of marijuana as well as paraphernalia and digital scales for weighing the drugs.

Brandon C. Towsend, 24, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana more than one ounce (felony).

Erica L. Moody, 20, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana more than one ounce (felony).

On Wednesday March 15th Agents with the Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop on Military Road near Covington Road. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of ice methamphetamine and Adderall pills.

Austin Lee Glorioso, 18, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine (felony) and possession of a controlled substance Adderall (felony).

On Wednesday March 15th Agents with the Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at the address of 52 Michaela Drive. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of ice methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia as well as assault rifles and handguns.

Christopher Tyler Robertson, 34, of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine (felony) and possession of marijuana.”
