COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Nativity scene is an all-time favorite at Christmas and a Lowndes County church group made sure locals could drive by and see it this weekend.
East End Baptist Church near Columbus performed it’s annual drive-thru Nativity re-enactment Saturday night. Motorists drove by and took pictures of the scene. Church members built the manager and also created the costumes.
Deacon Ernest Smith says this is what Christmas is all about.
“We’ve been blessed to do this for five years, getting the message out of the true meaning of Christmas. That Christ is the center of Christmas and it’s because of Him we can celebrate this time of year,” says Smith.
The East End Baptist Church Nativity scene will be on display Sunday night as well from 6 to 8 pm.
