Lowndes County Search Continues After More Human Remains Found

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A dive team, cadaver dogs and Lowndes County deputies return to where a human skull and now another bone is found.

Columbus Fire and Rescue divers searched a pond on the property, just off Hughes Road, today.

The group went in the water after GTR K9 cadaver dogs searched the area.

Investigator Greg Wright says investigators were called back to the home yesterday afternoon, April 3. A dog apparently brought the bone to the homeowner.

Just last month deputies went to the same house after a human skull was found at the same location.

At least five acres was searched today.

Coroner Greg Merchant says the investigation to identify the remains continues.
