Lowndes County Sheriff Appoints New Chief Deputy

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- There will now be a new but familiar face serving as chief deputy for the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department.

On Monday, Sheriff Mike Arledge appointed Greg Wright to the position.

This will be Wright’s second time to serve as chief deputy.

Wright, who has more than 30 years of experience with the department, is currently over the Criminal Investigation Division.

Monday’s appointment comes after former Chief Deputy Marc Miley retired from the position last week.

Wright is also a candidate in this year’s sheriff’s race.
