Lowndes County’s economic future: Plans intent to secure $30M in bonds

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County and economic developers are moving forward with plans to secure money for the future.

The Golden Triangle Development LINK asked the Board of Supervisors to pass an intent to secure $30 million in bonds.

This is one step in the process of getting the bonds. The board must still vote before any money will be given.

The LINK makes this request every two years to ensure money is available to lure a prospective company to the area.

While the move is a routine procedure, the timeline was moved up about a year as the LINK works to complete the Cinco Megasite.

The agency is already showing the area to prospective companies looking for a place to locate.
