Man Pleads Guilty To Raiding Indian Mound

OXFORD (WCBI) –  A Rienzi man faces sentencing later this year after admitting he went digging for artifacts in a Tishomingo County burial mound.  30 year old Robert Aquirre waived indictment and pleaded guilty Wednesday to violating the Archaeological Resource Act.   The court papers show Aquirre went digging in the Doskie Mounds at least twice in 2014.   Aquirre could receive up to 2 years in prison on each count.
