(TUPELO, MS) WCBI -Five hours will cost a Lee County man  15 years.
That’s the prison term 33 year old Harold Scruggs will serve after pleading guilty to  several charges in  connection with an August 2014 standoff with Lee County deputies. Scruggs, who also goes by the name Dee Mallette, fired on officers as they answered a domestic violence call at a residence in the Spring Hill community.   Over the next five hours Scruggs refused to come out of his home, fired at least one more round at police and would not let a hostage go.  The standoff ended when deputies used tear gas to flush the suspect  out.
