OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The victim in an Oktibbeha County shooting is now speaking out about the incident.

Tiberias Lampkin says he simply went out for a ride on his four-wheeler Friday, when two men in a pick-up truck started following him. A chase ensued and according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Lampkin was shot in the leg twice by one of the men. Wayne Monts of Maben was arrested soon after. Lampkin says the bizarre event was like something out of a movie.

“It was strange and at the same time it was also scary. I was chased from Sturgis to Maben and I guess you can say a fun day turned into a nightmare in a sense. If you’re chasing a kid and you’re trying to kill them or shoot them in anyway, then I believe you deserve to suffer the consequences,” says Lampkin.

Lampkin, a Northeast Mississippi College football player, says he’s grateful his leg injuries aren’t more serious.

The MBI says charges are expected to be filed against Monts on Monday.
