MED-1 To Make Debut Monday

COLUMBUS, MS (WCBI) – Medical calls handled by the Columbus Fire Department are going to get a major boost starting Monday.

MED-1

That’s when the city’s new medical response vehicle MED-1 goes into service.   MED-1 will be assigned to answer non life threatening medical calls.  That will free the engine companies to focus on more serious medical emergencies.   Current plans call for a second unit to be added in 2017.
