MHP is investigating a fatal crash

UPDATE: Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant confirmed the crash happened near the power plant killing an Alabama man. He said it was a single-vehicle wreck. More information will be released.

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A person is dead after a car crash Saturday evening.

MHP Troop G Public Affairs Division Sgt. Derrick Beckom said the crash happened around 6 p.m. on Highway 12, near Lone Oak Rd. in Lowndes County.

Coroner Greg Merchant confirmed one person died in the crash.
