Video: MHP Investigating Lowndes Co. Crashes

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A San Antonio, Texas woman is injured in a Lowndes County crash Monday afternoon.

State troopers say 43 year old Colleen Ruth was going north on Highway 45. That’s when a van driven by 69 year-old Linda Glasgow of Caledonia entered the highway from Cal Kola Road.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says Ruth swerved to miss the vehicle but they collided.

Ruth’s Ford Escape flipped several times down the highway.

She was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Glasgow was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers also responded to a second wreck Monday afternoon.

This one happened on Highway 45 South at the MS 789 intersection around 2:30 p.m.

MHP says a tractor trailer turning onto Highway 45 collided with a GMC Yukon.

The crash caused the SUV to travel off the left side of the road, and into the median.

Both drivers weren’t hurt, but three children in the SUV complained of pain, and were taken to the hospital to get checked out.
