MHP: New Year’s Eve Enforcement Period about to begin

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is getting ready to start their New Year’s Eve Enforcement Period.

The period will start on December 31 at 12:01 a.m. and will end on January 1 at midnight.

MHP will be using its safety initiative “Making It Home for The Holidays” to emphasize traffic safety for drivers traveling this holiday season.

MHP says during the 2017 New Year’s Eve Enforcement Period they investigated 119 crashes, including 1 fatality on state, federal highways and interstates.
