Millport Elects New Mayor

MILLPORT, Ala. (WCBI) — Millport, Alabama has a new mayor.

Stan Allred defeated incumbent Icie Wriley for the city’s top seat.

He tells WCBI he’d like to improve city street paving, water rates, recreation facilities, and Millport’s overall appearance.

“Millport, I think is on a new beginning,” Allred said. “We have had bad reactions before, but we’re going to have good, positive reviews from here on out because we are going to make some changes here to make Millport, and the people here, proud to live here.”

Allred will be sworn into office on November 7.
