Missing Pickens County Woman Found Dead In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WCBI) – Jefferson County Alabama Sheriffs Department says a body found in a home Wednesday is 39 year old Christy Lynn Cook.

Cook was reported missing March 7th in Pickens County.  A homeowner in the Rock Mountain Lakes area of Jefferson County  came home Wednesday to find a woman he thought was sleeping inside his residence.   Deputies arrived and determined the woman was dead.  The homeowner said no one was supposed to be at his residence and that he did not know Cook.   Investigators say her death is a homicide and a suspect is in custody. That name willbe released when formal charges are filed.
