Mississippi hardest hit spot in nation for flu

UNDATED (WCBI) – The flu is running rampant in North Mississippi and the Golden Triangle.

A new survey by the Walgreen’s drugstore chain says the Tupelo – Columbus market area is number nine in the nation for flu activity.

The survey shows the area is 3rd in the country in new flu cases.

The state as a whole is the worst in the country for the flu and Biloxi is the worst city in the nation for people with the flu. The Jackson metro area is third on the list.

The numbers are determined by the amount of new and refilled flu related prescriptions.
