Mississippi mayors attend Municipal Government Week

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Mayors from all over the Magnolia State are in Jackson for Mississippi’s Municipal Government Week.

It’s a part of the Mississippi Municipal League’s mid-winter meeting as legislature begins work this session.

Mayors joined together to talk about issues they see in their cities and towns.

During Monday’s meeting, topics like infrastructure and unfunded state mandates to local budgets were discussed during the meeting.

The City of Columbus decided to cancel attending the MML winter meeting to save money from a recent budget shortfall the city faced.
