Mississippi’s new COVID-19 numbers below 1,000 on Monday

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi’s new COVID-19 numbers remain below a thousand.

Today, the state department of health is reporting 705 new cases and 11 deaths.

The state’s current COVID-19 hospitalization rate is 8.4 percent.

269 people are in ICU across the state.

Right now, there are 71 open ICU beds in Mississippi.

Only four counties in the WCBI viewing area had more than ten new cases today.

Lowndes has 21 and Lafayette has 20. Lee and Union Counties are both reporting ten new cases.
