Monroe Co. coroner identifies man killed in officer-involved shooting

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Monroe County has been identified.

Coroner Alan Gurley confirmed it was 22-year-old Shaqwan Cribbs. He reportedly lived in an apartment complex near the scene of the shooting.

Amory police exchanged gunfire with Cribbs on Tschudi Road in the area of Walmart and the Huddle House.

No officers were injured.

Since it was an officer-involved shooting, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is in charge of the case.

The agency completed its scene investigation around 11 p.m.
