TUPELO, Miss.  (WCBI) – Tupelo Community Theatre has a new space to bring more live productions to the city.

This evening, TCT Off Broadway was opened to the public to show off their new 4,500 square foot space right behind the BancorpSouth Arena on Franklin Street.

TCT will still utilize the Lyric Theatre, but the new space will be used to store props, and it will also mean smaller, more intimate shows , such as dinner theaters, children’s productions and workshops will be staged for the public.

TCT President, Traci Conwill, says it’s plan they’ve been discussing for years. “The board, we have looked and researched, the ultimate goal is to purchase space downtown but this is our immediate fix to lease some space , just try it and see what we could do.”

There is already a one man Christmas show booked for the space. “SantaLand Diaries” will be held December 12th through the 14th.
