LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A 71 year old man is rushed to the hospital after his motorcycle collides with a SUV.

The accident happened just before 8:00 Tuesday morning on Highway 50 and Holly Hills Road. According to MHP Patrolman Criss Turnipseed, preliminary reports show a red Chevy Trail Blazer driven by 33 year old James Hendershaw, pulled out on to Highway 50 and side swiped a motorcycle ridden by Henry Collins of West Point. The collision sent the motorcycle off the road way into some brush. The driver injured his hip and neck and was transported by ambulance to Baptist Golden Triangle for non life threatening injuries. Hendershaw seemed to be fine.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.

Why does the title to this say Motorcycle collides with SUV? It should read “SUV side swipes Motorcycle” because that is the facts according to your article. Why do you put blame on the motorcyclist? It was clearly the SUV’s fault and they escaped unharmed. There should be consequences to run someone over on a motorcycle. Yet our state does nothing. Sad.

Agreed! Very poor, or very biased, journalism to make it sound like the riders fault.

Seems if your on a bike, they automatically assume your at fault and that is not right. Another bad rap just because your on two wheels not four…pay attention people!!!
