Mr., Miss NEMCC Named

BOONEVILLE, Miss. — Northeast Mississippi Community College’s student body recently elected Hunter Thompson and Tatum Emmons, both of Booneville, to Mr. and Miss NEMCC, respectively.

Thompson and Emmons selections came as the student body set out to choose class favorites for the 2014-15 school year.

During his time at Northeast, Thompson was elected as the president of the Student Government Association and Phi Beta Lambda and served as an honors in action team member for the Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda honor society.

In addition to his work with the Student Government Association, Phi Beta Lambda, and Phi Theta Kappa, Thompson was named to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and was named a Who’s Who at the 2015 Phi Beta Lambda State Convention.

In the classroom, Thompson was a member of the college’s Dean’s List and was named as an orientation counselor as well as to the school’s Hall of Fame.

Emmons left her mark on Northeast as the 2014 Homecoming queen and was a member of the 2014-15 Northeast cheerleading squad.

During her first year, Emmons was selected to serve as a representative on the homecoming court and was named as a Top 5 beauty in the college’s annual Parade of Beauties pageant.

Emmons carried herself well in the classroom, was a member of the college’s Dean’s List, the Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and was a Diamond Girl for the Tiger baseball team.
