MS House of Representatives passes Mississippi Broadband Enabling Act

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – A bill that will allow electric co-ops to provide broadband services in Mississippi moves forward.

On Wednesday, Speaker of the House Phillip Gunn and MS House of Representative members passed the Mississippi Broadband Enabling Act 115-3.

Gunn said he is proud of the House for stepping up to find a solution for constituents who want access to broadband because lack of access is a serious issue for the state.

He went on to say the bill is designed to protect the rate payer and provide transparency.
