MSDH is reporting over 2,500 COVID-19 cases on the last day of 2020

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Hospitalizations and COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Mississippi.

The state department of health is reporting 2,756 new cases and 40 deaths.

Ten of those fatalities occurred in the WCBI viewing area.

Right now, 1,463 people are hospitalized with confirmed or suspected coronavirus symptoms.

346 of those patients are in ICU. There are 89 ICU beds open statewide.

Lee County has the most cases today with 102.

Lowndes has 83, Union has 70, Monroe has 60, and Oktibbeha has 49.
