MSU police department provides traffic flow map for game day

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi State welcomes thousands of visitors to campus this weekend and the university’s police department is making sure traffic flows smoothly.

The department held a press conference Wednesday to give traffic updates for this weekend’s matchup with LSU.

Westbound traffic on Blackjack Road from the roundabout will be directed onto HailState Boulevard.

All Eastbound traffic on Blackjack Road from Hwy 12 will not be allowed past Locksley Way.

Old Mayhew Road at Bardwell Road will be closed.

You will not be allowed back on campus for up to two hours after traffic control starts, even if you live in a dorm on campus.

“Knowing the traffic plan and following the traffic plan is vital. If you stop and want to argue with the officer or try and go a different way than the direction you’re being pointed were told to go that causes traffic delays for everybody else,” said MSU Chief Police Vance Rice.

Rice said these changes will be in place for the rest of the football season.
