Multiple Arrests In Booneville

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – On 09/13/2017 Booneville Police Patrol Officers responded to a reported burglary of an automobile in progress. When officers arrived, they found a witness detaining a white female suspect identified as Laykin Paige Bordelon, 27 of Booneville.

The caller and witness stated they caught her breaking into their vehicle and detained her until officers arrived. She was arrested and held for questioning. Further investigation throughout the night determined several other vehicles were burglarized at the same location.

Ms. Bordelon was also found to possess items reported stolen from a business which was also burglarized the same night. She was processed and charged with three counts of burglary of an automobile and burglary of a commercial building (business).

Her bond for those charges was set at $50,000. She was on probation with the MDOC. She is currently incarcerated that the Prentiss County Jail. Her case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

Also, On 09/18/2017 a Booneville Patrol Officer made a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a misdemeanor traffic offense. Contact during the stop lead to the officer locating a passenger identified as Connie Joe Mayes, 38 of Booneville, within the vehicle who he knew had an outstanding arrest warrant.

The officer attempted to arrest Ms. Mayes for the warrant but she fled on foot. The officer caught her and attempted again to arrest her. Ms. Mayes resisted arrest and then began to assault the officer.

Backup officers arrived and helped place Ms. Mayes under arrest. She was charged with multiple misdemeanor offenses along with a felony simple assault on a police officer. Her bond for the felony was set at $10,000. Her case will be presented to the next Prentss County Grand Jury.
