Multiple Judges Decline to Hear Case Against Calhoun Co. Educators Charged With Failure to Report Alleged Sex Crime

CALHOUN CO., Miss. (WCBI) – Finding a judge to hear a case against two Calhoun County educators is proving to be difficult.

Schools superintendent Mike Moore and Bruce High Principal Mike Gillespie are charged with failure to report an alleged sex crime.

However, Bruce police say Circuit Judge Kelly Luther has contacted about 20 circuit court judges to hear the case — but they’ve all declined.

If a judge is not found, the case could be tried in Bruce before Judge Ben Suber.

A court date could be set as early as next week.
