COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The state flag debate continues, this time on a local college campus.

A recent survey at The Mississippi University for Women shows the majority of faculty at the “W” support changing the State Flag.

The MUW Faculty Senate conducted the survey among faculty members.

The results show a very small percent believe the flag should be left alone.

Even though the majority are in favor of changing the flag, it’s a different story when it comes to removing the state flag from the W’s campus.

Members of The Faculty Senate say they can not take a clear stance on the issue, with no clear majority when it comes to the flag being flown on campus.

The survey comes at the heels of Governor Phil Bryant’s decision to make April “Confederate Heritage Month.”
